In fairness to Mu Yanjun, he resisted necrophilia on his own, for fear of Bai Weiwei hating him otherwise. He had bad thoughts, but he didn’t make them a reality.

To be fair, BWW really had too many restrictions this time and didn’t have much of a choice. She did want to start off the mission by white washing herself, but who told the slagstem to give her such an insane side task?

She did misled him with the demonic path nonsense because she needed him to capture her soul for the side quest. She said it as though it were a sure thing because otherwise he wouldn’t release her soul, holding it indefinitely as he searched for a more perfect method.
Ning Yishu is pitiable, but Bai Weiwei really had no other way short of forfeiting her life.
